Scoly Care Facts:
Lighting
Scolys prefer low PAR but high quality blue spectrum lighting. We find best coloration under Radions at full blue settings with low intensity (50% or lower depending on distance from the the top of aquarium). Colors will quickly become faded or dull in higher PAR (like 75+) or lighting schedules with more white, red, or green.
Daily Care
Scolys also REQUIRE regular feedings to survive in captivity. They can eat a wide range of foods from 50 microns to 1 cm. They do best when fed regularly with small particulate foods and supplemented with larger meaty foods 1-3 times a week.
Parameters & Placement
Scolys are less sensative than some other corals we keep but still do best in ideal parameters. Placement and feeding is very important for a healthy Scoly. Scoly's must be facing upright, roughly level, and must be in a low flow area that won't hinder them from eating. 
The Bottom Line
Scolys are beautiful gems that can really crown our aquariums if cared for appropriately. In order of importance: Feeding, placement, lighting, and parameters are all key factors to consider when looking at purchasing a beautiful Scoly gem for your reef aquarium.
